Annual Subscriptions to BOAT – A Request

I am writing as Chairman of BOAT to thank you for your support for the Trust. Our Friends are loyal and have supported the work of BOAT in many ways over the years, not least by buying many tractor draw tickets, currently we are being supported by Kelsey Media in the form of a competition to win an Polaris Sportsman ATV.

We continue to believe that improving the Management, Business and Training Skills of senior personnel from Agricultural Training Colleges and Rural Development Projects who are in the position to influence the lives of so many of the poorest in their countries is a worthwhile investment. The annual BOAT Short Course in Institutional Management and Business Planning (International) is run over 6 weeks at Bicton College (now part of The Cornwall College Group) has been a great success and we were planning to bring more students onto the course this year, but the COVID19 virus put paid to that. Also BOAT had teamed up with Accent International to provide the training including an element on Communication, we are hopeful that the course will run again in 2021. This training is much valued by the recipients and their employers as evidenced by the feedback that we get from them both, as well as the staff who teach them.

BOAT has built a number of partnerships over the years, particularly in Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi, and we plan to increase our in-country training delivery to provide further support to these partners and their agricultural and rural development education programmes as a logical extension of the UK training.

In order to achieve our ambitions we shall need to raise more funds. Although we conduct a number of fund raising activities, we lack a reliable income stream. I am writing to invite you to consider becoming a regular subscriber to BOAT to enable us to deliver even more training. We will aim to keep you informed about our work through two newsletters per year and invite you to events that we organise, whether or not you subscribe by this mechanism. I hope that you will respond positively to this request.

If so, could you please complete this Annual Subs Donation, thank you.

Thank you for your continuing support for BOAT which is much valued and enables us to fulfil our mission and charitable aims.
