The work of BOAT is described in other parts of this site and in particular the About Us section. The major activity is the annual accredited Short Course on Institutional Management and Business Planning (International). This is delivered over six weeks at Bicton College in the UK as a residential course. The content of this and details of how to apply are given in the next sub section: The Course. Reports on previous courses are also given in this section.
BOAT also delivers in-country workshops. These are referred to in the opening page About Us.
So far two have been delivered:
- In 2008 at the Tengeru Livestock Training Agency campus, Arusha, Tanzania for 24 participants on Instituional Management and Business Planning; and
- In 2012 at the Natural Resources College, Lilongwe, Malawi for 29 participants on Managing Sustainable Development: improving agricultural management by training and extension (report on subsequent pages).
In future, BOAT plans to do more in-country work and reach more countries where key personnel might benefit from its training activities.
