Bicton College’s Agricultural Engineering students have completed a full restoration to a Massey Ferguson 35 Tractor which will be auctioned by the BOAT charity.
The students have worked very hard to complete this tractor with all new tractor parts.
A big thanks for the support to Vapormatic for all the new tractor parts, Firestone and North Devon Tyres for the new tyres, rims and the students for all their hard work.
What will happen to this tractor now that it has been rebuilt, well the current plan is that it will be auctioned probably at Honiton Hill Rally.
Message from David Wendover Chairman BOAT –
Many congratulations and thanks to Chris Mitchell and all the Engineering students on completing this huge task. Over the years BOAT has received wonderful support from the raffling of classic tractors refurbished by Bicton staff and students and the funds raised have allowed BOAT to carry out its work improving the lives of rural people in Africa. Although we have sadly had to cancel this year’s BOAT course because of the Coronavirus situation we continue to strengthen our ties with our alumni and their organisations, particularly in Kenya and Uganda, which is very gratifying for our Trust. We have a lot of friends in that part of the world and I certainly hope that these contacts will provide travel opportunities for Bicton students to experience the real Africa with all its wonders, opportunities and challenges.
Once again a huge thank you to all who have been involved in this project.
